Shopping w/c 31.10.16

Evening all! I meant to post this a lot earlier but I’ve had a very ‘interesting’ (such a British way to say rubbish) evening.

With it being Halloween yesterday, we thought we’d leave the shopping until tonight so that we could stay in for trick-or-treaters. It’s also good for our budget to make each shop last that tiny bit longer, too.

The only additions are some bread we picked up on Sunday to put us on, and a bag of sugar that we used to make Rosehip Syrup ready for Christmas presents. They were included in the budget but won’t be included in the list below.

Everything is from Aldi except for the nutritional yeast, which is from a local vegan shop. A couple of items that I listed as being 2+ weeks last week have had to be replaced already as we have been doing some experimenting with recipes 🙂

 

  • Chocolate reindeer (buy 1 seasonal item a week to spread the cost)
  • Plain flour
  • sugar
  • cocoa powder
  • oats
  • nutritional yeast (b12 and cheesey goodness)
  • 8 tins of beans (baked, kidney, mixed and chickpeas)
  • 2 tins of tomatoes
  • 3 soya milks
  • 2 loaves of bread
  • bag of rice
  • squash
  • lemonade
  • fizzy water
  • peppers
  • mushrooms
  • kale
  • carrots
  • broccoli
  • frozen peas
  • frozen sweetcorn
  • apples
  • bananas

 

Our total today was £20.98, which included a whole £3 for nooch (worth it!). We’ve still got a good stock of pasta and lentils in, as well as some potatoes and onions, so we’ve not had to buy as many staples this week.
